Fast facts

  • The fitness assessment at school is established by the Law on Sports and General programs of Education.
  • The system should include all pupils from the 1st to the 12th grade in all schools of general education. The measurements are to be performed during PE class as a part of an educational process, carried out by PE teacher collaborating with the school health specialist.
  • Feedback report is provided confidentially to a student and parents, with individual consultation by school health specialist and PE teacher to those parents, whose children’s results fall below the estimated limit. The school health specialist is also in charge of collecting depersonalized data of the class and school and provide the summarized results to school community, aiming at mutual collaboration in finding the best ways to improve health-enhancing physical activity both at school and home settings.
  • The measurements take place once a year – from February 1 to May 1, as established by the Order of the Health Minister for fitness assessment. The feedback results should be provided to students until May 15. Individual consultation to students and parents should be performed until the end of the school year.
