What this toolkit is all about

This toolkit is specifically designed to empower educators and their students in showcasing the integral role of physical fitness monitoring in nurturing students’ physical literacy journey. Through the FitBack toolkit, a variety of engaging scenarios and corresponding topics centred around physical literacy, physical fitness, and exercise are presented, enriched with dynamic animations.

The toolkit will be soon translated into multiple languages and hopefully, you’ll find a suitable one for your needs. Below you can find content of the toolkit and instruction how to navigate through toolkit’s pages.

Hopefully, you’ll find our toolkit and other FitBack web pages useful for your students and for teaching and learning. Now we recommend that you start exploring!

Here are the chapters in the toolkit:

  • SCENARIOS - The scenarios can inspire teachers and coaches to generate ideas about the potential applications of the topics covered in this toolkit within physical education classes and exercise programs for youth.
  • PHYSICAL FITNESS - The chapter addresses questions such as what physical fitness is, how it is measured, and why it is important. It explains why physical fitness is the optimal health indicator in childhood and explores its connections to brain function and cognition. Viewers will also discover how to create an appropriate environment for fitness testing.
  • PHYSICAL LITERACY - The chapter explains what physical literacy is, why it is important, and how it is connected to physical fitness. It also illustrates how the process of monitoring physical fitness can facilitate the development of physical literacy in students.
  • THE POWER OF FEEDBACK - In this chapter, the significance of feedback on an individual's fitness will be explained, along with terms such as centile values and health-risk zones, which enhance the understanding of the FitBack report.
  • EXERCISE - The chapter builds on knowledge from previous chapters. Viewers learn how to step from fitness diagnostics to exercise, establishing exercise goals, and creating a personalized plan, also with the support of artificial intelligence tools.
