Energy Expenditure and Physical Activity

Energy expenditure refers to the energy that the body utilizes to perform its functions. This includes basic bodily functions as well the energy used for physical activities like exercise or sports. The more active we are, more energy we need. 

In this video, we'll delve into some fundamental terms and principles such as energy balance, calories, and the metabolic equivalent of task (MET). You'll discover how to estimate your own energy expenditure using MET values and the Compendium of Physical Activity.
