How is Fitness Connected with Physical Literacy?

The chapter on physical literacy explains what physical literacy is, why it is important, and how it is connected to physical fitness. It also illustrates how the process of monitoring physical fitness can facilitate the development of physical literacy in students.

Throughout the teaching program, students’ progress is regularly monitored. Periodic assessments are conducted to track improvements in their fitness levels. The teacher provides feedback and support, highlighting the areas in which each student has shown improvement and areas that still require attention. As the students continue exercising, they notice positive changes. They become more capable and confident in performing various movement skills. The assessment not only provide evidence of their progress but also serve as a motivational tool, encouraging them to continue their efforts and strive for further improvement. Using meaningful teaching approaches, students gain a greater understanding of how their bodies move, develop better motor coordination and control, and become more aware of the importance of physical activity for their health and well-being.
